Pages tend to load fast when you are on a cable connection Wink

Same as me (at home). I'm still on my trust US Robotics 28k modem there (which has been with me for 6 years now). No cable or nothing there. I'm waiting for the sat-modems to come down in price. I think a little dish next to my machine would look rather sexy. ;-)

I only have the T3 link in work, which I why I live only a k away, so I just practicaly live here <g>.

I contacted JANET and they are considering letting me setup a colocated server on their network. Primary connections are allowed to provide sponsored connections and as my university is a primary connection then......Cool

Yes. That's what we have here. The liscence fee we pay is around 5,000 pa, which is very good considering the average commercial price for such a high-speed connection is around the 7 to 8,000 mark.

If you're carrying educational material then it's free, of course. But if you're running your own domain name, you must have a license. It's free if you have a sub-domain of your University and carry educational content.

Good luck.

How? If your University is not charging you then they are breaking JANet regulations.

Since when has a discussion been an argument :)

If it was an argument you'd all know about it. Hmm come to think of it I don't think I've ever argued properly with anyone at the forum (properly in terms of what I'm capable of). Cool

Has anyone noticed that more and more threads are going wayyyy off topic these days....and not even ones Im involved in too!! Laugh

that's cuz we're all sitting on arses waiting for this update or that update besides the crowd pleasing community plugin aka ... most likely a full suite of goodies or a revamp of the GT system (first mention was like 2 months ago?)

that's where you get the phrase :: the natives are restless Laugh
