502 error
I posted in the chit chat and clicked on the chitchat link (errr slightly top left) and got a 502 error ... hmmm ... I used my browser to return back and was able to click through ... 2 new post were there ... my reply and Paul's Brain teaser ... (reference for time ... this post - about 4 minutes ... xx:33 roughly)

It happens occasionally.

First you get an app server error when mysql shuts down, then you get "Can't connect to mysql server through socket file '/tmp/sock' (or wherever it is)

Hi,

Usually this means one of our monitoring scripts went off and had to restart the web/mysql servers, otherwise it means we are upgrading the forum our product demos and had to restart the web server. It shouldn't happen very often any more.

Hi,

Ours is a custom built one and is pretty tied to our server, so it wouldn't do you much good. The link Paul mentioned does have some nice ones though.

Although if you want to see ours, I've attached it here.

Sure, you may need to customize it quite a bit to your site though.. It assumes quite a few things. Also, I'd turn on debug while testing.
