what would be best way to add a favorite link for the record (Checkbox),(link) and how.

I have no clue, where to even start

I got around 1000 records, and I would like to offer an option, for users to add selected record for their favorites (Not browser favorites, but kinda like checkbox next to the record, and option to list only favorites (checked) records)
