Search question
Here is what I want to do but I am not sure what is the best way to do it.

I will have a static html page that will give information on a breed of dog. From that page I would like it to be able to search either the breeders database or the rescue database. The only choice I want the visitor to make is weather they are looking for a breeder or a rescue. I want the search fuction to already know which breed it is looking for. Can this be done and how do I go about it?

Set up your form like this:

Code:
<form action="http://url/to/db.cgi" method="GET">
<input type=hidden name="uid" value="default">
<input type=hidden name="breed" value="name of breed">
<input type="radio" name="db" value="breeder"> Breeder Database<BR>
<input type="radio" name="db" value="rescue"> Rescue Database<BR>
<INPUT TYPE="SUBMIT" NAME="view_records" VALUE="Search">&nbsp;
<INPUT TYPE="RESET" VALUE="Reset">
</form>

You would need to change some of the values to match your database -- the url to db.cgi, the name of the field that holds the breed of dog, the names of the two databases -- things like that. But this is the correct format.

JPDeni,

I have put the code in and made the changes.
as shown below
<form action="http://www.vettracker.com/cgibin/dbman/db.cgi" method="GET">
<input type=hidden name="uid" value="default">
<input type=hidden name="breed" value="German Shepherd">
<input type="radio" name="db" value="breeders"> Search for a Breeder<BR>
<input type="radio" name="db" value="rescues"> Search for a Rescue<BR>
<INPUT TYPE="SUBMIT" NAME="view_records" VALUE="Search">
<INPUT TYPE="RESET" VALUE="Reset">
</form>

I get an error stating no search terms specified.

I am not sure why?
