DB with Links2 rather than DBman?

DB with Links2 rather than DBman?
Is it possible/easier to use links2 for a DB rather than DBman if you need to use categories/subcategories? - Links2 seems to be easier to figure out to customise to do this. This would be for a database of companies (name, address, url, fax, etc.,)

would that come under 'detailed pages' threads?
and the detailed page mod in resources/links2?
Are there disadvantages to using links2 as a database style, rather than links db?

I mean with elements like - address, phone, fax etc., rather than just a url link.

If you want your category fields to be searchable, the answer is "No".
If you are prepare to upgrade to LinksSQL, the answer is "Maybe".
