I am just reading and trying to learn about perl & DB [Man. Basic question in referance to the configurator. In the "define database field" setup page there are referances to "key field" and to "user id field" I know this may be a very basic question but could someone expand on the significance of these 2 inputs, please?

The "Key" field is a field that will always contain a unique value. No two "Key" fields can ever be alike.
The "User ID" field is the field that has the username of the person who added the record, and is only really neccessary if you plan to use "User can only modify own record", so DBMan knows who belongs to each record.
Hope this clears things up,
