visitor statistics
Does anyone know of a mods that can maintain website hits and other stats from visitors, ie (unique visitor hits, domain, country, browser, operating system, entry referrer and exit referrer etc.

Or if there are not any mods, does anyone know of prebuilt cgi scripts that will work within the dbman script.

I've looked around for some other scripts, but most seem to be only for static webpages and are not meant to log these stats from within a dynamic, CGI-generated web page.

Any thoughts
Trev

Look at your SERVER LOGS.

well, duh, I mean a graphical display. And if you mean the dbman log, it doesn't store all the information. And if your on a freebie website, you don't have access to the server logs.

I read many of your posts Eliot, the bulk of them are so cryptic, vague, and unhelpful to the point of uselessness. Not everyone here is a Master of Perl.
These short quips of info you spill out, with always a hint of condescension and impatience always leave me wondering why do you even bother.

No...I mean your SERVER LOGS...NOT the DBMAN LOGS.

There are MANY third party software available to READ and OUTPUT data from your SERVER LOGS. In addition, many hosting companies offer logging analysis programs to their clients, yes, even free hosting companies.

And my intention in my post was NOT to be rude, but to give a quick and simple answer, BUDDY! Mad

I guess you mean these third party programs Eliot: http://cgi.resourceindex.com/...sses_and_Statistics/. I notice that a lot of the scripts at that address above just do this:

75 30.12 % /demo/index.cgi

while I would want a script that would display something like that for all procedures, i.e. "html_record". Is that even possible?

Has anyone here used one of these sorts of scripts especially for keeping stats for DBMAN?

Yes...and there are other (better) cgi/perl resource sites that you can find scripts that will do this.

I am partial to WebTrends Log Analyzer and if you want a Perl/CGI based one that could possibly integrated with DBMAN on some level is WebSite Reporter (http://www.websitereporter.com/) and also AXS Tracking System (http://www.xav.com/scripts/axs/).

Did you manage to get a statistics program working with your DBMAN database Trevor?

Hi, Phillip

Sorry, I was away. Actually I started writing my own. I have the log file set up, and all the info is being stored.
I am currently writing the front end for it. So far I have the domain/country stats and the O/S & Browser & Version stats graphically displayed. Working on the unique visitors and referer display when time permits.
