Using a pre-made user file

Using a pre-made user file
Hi everyone, I've been wracking my brain about this one for a while. I have a huge user/password list that I want to use with DBman. I can get dbman to read the file and everything but when it comes to using it as the .pass file dbman keeps saying "invalid username/password". I think the problem is that dbman unencrypts the usernames and in doing so messes them up because they weren't encrypted in the first place.

If anyone can show me how to take the encryption/decryption process out of dbman, or show me how to encrypt all the passwords in the big file, that would be great!

Please check the FAQ noted below under "Admin" and then "passwords".

There are threads references there which may help you to find a solution.

If you are using an encryption from another server, the method being used on your current server may be different which would cause problems.

It is not recommended to remove the encryption for your password file.

In the resources section, there's a CGI script available that will translate a pipe delimited text file into a .pass file for DBMan. It can be found at:

Good luck!

Hi,
this post raises the question how to change servers without loosing the passwords.
How would one have to go about this?
