And so the thread continues... my apologies in advance to plee... I know this is not what you bargained for and the following rant has nothing to do with you... really!
This is not even about Eliot... it's about people who have the hubris to believe that they were the
first to ever have a problem or want a certain feature... I read just about EVERY post on this and the Links mod forum, and can only conclude that Karen is right about the change in people's attitudes over this time, but not in the way she thinks... the biggest being a move from a spirit of "I want to learn and am willing to make mistakes as a I experiment" to "I want this done for me and am unwilling to lift a finger to do it for myself".
As for Lois' presumption to speak for why Carol has not been active in the forum, it doesn't even deserve a response (and the logic is faulty: post hoc ergo prompter hoc). But to set the facts straight, Eliot's particpation has filled the void left my two absentee moderators (Carol here and Bobsie in Links mods), not the other way around. And while we're starting a petition on who should stay and who should go, ask yourself if you yourself would hold up to such scrutiny?
I have been thinking this privately for some time, but let's see how ridiculous it sounds outloud... how 'bout a private forum for advanced Gossamer-Threads users... price of admission: one original mod...
