Modding the DBM Template mod

Modding the DBM Template mod
I have the dbm template mod fully functional on my offline database and I would like to add a whole bunch of JPDeni's mod's to it. Since the templates mod doesn't use the normal html.pl, how would I go about adding the mods to the template mod? I mean, there are alot of things that need to be changed in the html.pl for these mods however a lot of that stuff isn't even there in the templated html.pl. Has anyone added any mods to the template mod, if so, let me know how it was done.

Thanks.

I have added a lot of mods to the original template. It was really a matter of reading the instructions in the README.TXT file that comes with each mod. If you go slow and read carefully every step before beginning. Then as you read each step, do them in order. You really can't go wrong. I am still in the process of building and adding mods. Also, do one mod at a time and make sure it works before going on to the next mod.

Sherwin,

That is great advice. However, I think that jdulberg is referring to the DBMAN Template System that was created by TimRyan. It is structured differently than the standard DBMAN. The DBMAN Templates System uses a totally different html.pl that separates HTML routines from all Perl routines.

jdulberg,

I would recommend waiting for TimRyan to respond. I could give you some suggestions, but since I did not write the templates, it would be best to get input from the author.
Okay?

Thanks for your input Sherwin however, as Eliot said, I'm using the templated version of DBman created by TimRyan. I'm in no rush the database online so waiting isn't a problem.

Thanks.

Just wanted to bring this message up to the top --

Has anyone seen TimRyan around. Some of my advertisers are getting on my back about the new site so if anyone has added some of JPDeni's mods to TimRyan's template mod, please let me know.

Thanks.

Nope...You should try to email him directly. I believe he has his email address posted in his profile page.
