Adding "Hits" field?

Adding "Hits" field?
Is there a way to add a field in DBman that will log the # of hits a link recieves and dispaly it in the output? (like the Hits: field in Links?)

If so, how would you go about accomplishing this?

This has been discussed before. I was working on a Mod for this awhile back, but it didn't work very well.

Search this forum for "hit counter" and you will see a few Threads that discuss this. Another DBMAN user did come up with a Mod, but it did not work for me.

Another suggestion is to look at the jump.cgi script in the LINKS program and see if you can port the codes for the HITS in LINKS to DBMAN.

I just spent about 20-30 minutes searching the forum for other stuff too and found lots of topics on integrating DBMan and Links2...

I was also wondering, as I found in other topics, how would you use the jump.cgi file with DBMan. Lots of topics mention this and say it is being worked on, but I didn't see anythink about the completion of this.

Has this been completed or is it possible to complete something similar to a redirection cgi file?

Check out this Thread:

Wow...I spent like ten seconds using "Hit Counter" as the keyword and I came up with the Thread.

Frown

Me thinks that you did not use my suggestion of using "Hit Counter" as the keyword.

Wink

Eliot,

When I said I spent 20-30 minutes searching, I meant I was searching that long for information on adding a jump.cgi file to DBMan (integrating Links and DBMan) , not 20-30 minutes with "hit counter" Smile Just wanted to clear that up!
