Add Field Mod
I know there was an ADD Field mod, does anyone know where it went, or could help me. I need to add 2 fields to an existing DB with over 800 records. SO they will need to stay in order and all...

There *was* an "add field" mod. The author decided to remove it from the Resource Center.

What you can do is to open your .db file in a programming text editor (like EditPlus, for example) and do a global search-and-replace.

Search for \n (newline) and replace it with ||\n.

I was looking for something else in the forums, and I found where the author of the mod had posted his mods. It's at http://gossamer-threads.com/p/11359.

JPDeni:

Okay I have to know how you figured out how to shorten the url thread reference ... that is slick.

I've been leaving out all but the numbers in the FAQ thread references because of the length at times. Could you tell me the secret of how you are able to call the link as you did in the post above .. please Smile

Laugh You like that, huh?

Alex posted something in another forum -- I can't think what the name of it is, but it's the second one on the first page, just under Announcements. The name of the post is Short URL's (I think Wink). It was a feature that someone at Gossamer Threads incorporated into the forum script.

Basically, it's just

http://www.gossamer-threads/p/ and the number that you see in the URL after &Number=

It's probably best to look at the thread in "Threaded" mode so you can pick out the particular number for the post you want to refer to.

Carol,

That is correct...I did pull my Mods from the Resource Center
since I can no longer support them. I am upgrading my databases
to MySQL using Links SQL and custom scripts (with some DBMAN
components...but not many).

Thanks for linking the Thread where I posted the Mods!

Smile

Cheers,

Eliot
