I briefly glances at your html.pl file the other day, and once I saw the javascript I shyed away from trying to help. I don't use javascript and I'm not sure how the mod would handle the sorts when the categories are not being generated in the html_record_form, but rather using javascipt.

I would have thought that using the javascript would be for the output displays only?

Hopefully someone else will come along that is familiar with javascript and can lend you a hand.

I'm not sure what set of instructions you are using or where you got them from. If you got this from the FAQ under "sorting" and have used the thread reference called "Sort on Multiple Fields (condensed version)" and the original thread is:

DBMan SQL
Thead reference: http://gossamer-threads.com/p/001080
Subject : Sorting on multiple fields

Then I was unable to locate the first change noted for the db.cgi file in sub query.

I wasn't able to open your db.cgi file last time I checked and that is why I didn't look at it earlier. The file did open this time.
