SpamAssassin 3.0 coming soon!
Hi,

We are in the final stages of testing with the new SpamAssassin 3.0. It should be pushed out later this week if everything goes well. SpamAssassin 3.0 includes many new features including authenticating via Sender Policy Framework (SPF), checking for web links of known spam advertisers, looking at which countries the spam originated from and improved classification of spam.

Cheers,

Alex

Hi.

sa-learn --sync would need to be run also as SA 3.0 would not be using bayes db2.0
Also the Subject Rewrite. Other than that, it's perfect. Also, if users are using rules from rulesemporium, then in certain cases, pre 3.0 rules would not be compatible with SA 3.0.

Would SPF break mail forwarding unless SRS is also put in place?

Thanx
HyTC

Hi,

sa-learn --sync is not needed as it automatically updates your bayes database the first time it's used.

As for breaking mail forwarding, yes SPF definitely has that issue. However, you don't need to use SPF yourself to take advantadge, but rather just use it to validate others email. It only penalizes mail that fails an spf check (i.e. a domain owner has said all mail will come from these ip's, and it came from a different one).

Cheers,

Alex
