Your Posting Numbers?
Just out of interest, how many post have you made in this forum.
I've only been here for a few months and already have clocked up 109 posts in that short time.

There goes another one! Mad

How about - Nice car you have there, just for a bit of fun & trivia, how fast does it go?
Answer: You'll find that info by going to the showroom and looking at the specs sheet.

...Hmmm

It's a lot easier to click on a name than it is to travel to a showroom and hassle some stuck-up salesman for the specsheet Wink

I think what they're getting at, is that this forum is for asking GT Company/Script related questions, and this thread isn't exactly productive in any way...

For the record: 643 + This one

Ok for the record - MY POST WAS NOT A QUESTION ON HOW TO SEE USERS POSTING NUMBERS!

It was aimed at the broader audience for a bit of trivia on how many posts people have made.

Of course it is isn't... wasn't meant to be. But then gosh, we are all serious in life and shouldn't even hint at straying away from that as I have done TO MY PERIL!!!

Yes, I know... "I have 109 posts, how do I find out how many I have?" Wink

If you have any questions on Gossamer Threads as a company, new script ideas, etc, please post them here.
The title "Discussion" is somewhat misleading, I have long thought that GT should set aside a forum purely for chit-chat. People don't come here to chit-chat though...

If people want to have general 'chit chat', then goto http://www.htmlforums.com as they have a whole section of forums dedicated to webmaster stuff, and also general chat.

Thats not the point Andy.

People want to be able to come here to ask Links2 questions and have a chat as well. They don't want to go to a different forum.

Actually, I think that is the point. GT have been very genersouse in the resources and time they have put into these forums. There are other sites that do EXACTLY what people are asking, and their site revolves around it. Although there is a good sense of community in these forums, people need to find other sites where they can relax and talk about general stuff, or other webmaster related things! Smile

Just my opinion! If GT wants to add another forum, then be it far from me to tell them not to. I am just saying I think they have done more than enough in my opinion to help the webmaster community!

Quantity is not as important as quality...mentioned in a few Threads in this forum and akin to my professional training....

So what? The number of posts that users in this site post, that is??? Is totally a relative concept, which is akin to my professional training, again...As some people would like to believe...the percentage of "quality postings" is lower than the total amount of postings...

I've had a few handles in this forum...close to a three year period, and I've posted over 20 posts per day, totaling over 20,000 posts...the quantity is NOT as important quality, Eraser...I used to berate Bobsie for his posts, but ya know what? After three years of being on these forums...I totally emphasize with his sharp and short comments....Oh, I am sorry, you are a total newbie to these forums...Bobsie is one of the moderators of the LINKS 2.0 CUSTOMIZATION FORUM who hasn't been around since August 2000, almost a year! And for good reason, he is diabetic and probably due to health issues, has chosen to not be active in the forums!

So, to be short, it doesn't matter a HILL OF BEANS the number of postings, but the quality of posts!!!

Got it????

And, Paul is correct in this incident..you should post mindless posts like this in other forums...

Sorry, Alex...I think this type of Thread totally detracts form the purposes of the forum...

Eliot Lee

.. but still wish to contribute with a 231 word reply.

So fine, if that's the way you want it.

I'm not going to add anything else to this now out-of-hand thread and due to the attitude of some here, any thread I now see that constitutes a "mindless post" (like nonsense talk about the weather) will be immediately chastised and thus keeping within general ethos within the forums.

In closing, you might like to know I saw this question on another large web script forum and it resulted in an excellent discussion with all contributing positively. Sadly not here though, instead resulting in indifference left right and center... yes how things differ.

So back now to the serious business giving and helping with users questions.
