credit card transaction companies
Are there any credit card transaction companies that work with Gossamer Thread Products?

I have never used a merchant account, or set up a subscription service, and I'm sure many of you have. I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

Thanks for the suggestion, I checked paypal out and it looks pretty good.
If anyone else has any other suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

You also may want to check third-party processing companies.
I use iBill.com for my pay per link site.
The fee is much higher than having a merchant account.
12% - 15%.
But is a good way to "test" a product.

WorldPay.com @ 4.5% with no merchant account is hard to beat, I reckon...

I like the look of paypal.com, but they don't offer the web-accept feature for UK site owners at present so I'm not working with ClickBank.com and trying out their system before I decide what to do next.

I've been wanting to accept credit card orders for upgrades/guarateed reviews for some time now, but to setup a UK internet Merchant Account is way beyond my limited budget at present.

I'm hoping that I can get a few orders per month which will allow me to rent a semi-dedicated server account with my host and will allow for mega expansion of my directories ... and if it works really well I may be able to give up my day job ... fingers-crossed Smile

All the best
Shaun

Yeah that was my concern with paypal......

I am in the UK but prefer offering payment from my website and paypal dont offer that yet :(

Ive found CCNow.com to be good but they are fussy about what products you sell......

My concern with paypal is how to acknowledge that the return url was triggered by them, not spoofed?? They don't provide a transaction code, or hidden URL to return to the way Ibill did.

I don't like paypal's setup anyway really. I suppose it is ok for swapping money with friends and the web payments are probably ok for USA customers but I think the sending of emails asking for money is a bit cheesy, although innovative..:)

The setup is fine. Really. On the internet, what is more unique than an email address? It should only route to one destination. It should uniquely define a mailbox, that can move as the customer or business moves, yet still uniquely define it. A customer can set up multiple mailboxes to handle multiple business activities, yet still have each uniquely define one repository.

My problem is the transaction handling, not the overall setup.

And with that, only the final phase of generating a unique code to identify a successful transaction.

They need to return an ID that a cgi script can then verify on the server end to make sure it was a valid transaction.
