Buttons for URL's etc.

Buttons for URL's etc.
Alex,
I don't if you would consider doing this but could you create some additional form elements that would utilize DHTML. Example: Instead of having to type http://www.google.com, you would enter the url into the input box and click ok and that would automatically place the appropriate tags and link in this text box. It would just make things easier for those that don't know about, or don't care to investigate some of the custom tags.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think it would make things alot easier.

Ha, ha. Yeah, so I'm lazy Tongue, I'd rather use the mouse than type I guess. I know most of the tags I just thought I would try to convince Alex to make it easier. VBulletin, I think it is, has several DHTML buttons that fill in all the tags for you at the click of a button. I would think you would appreciate this Paul, you post alot.Smile

Rather than using "buttons", it would be nice to have links become active by simply typing in the URL...(like with UBB).

But I personally don't mind typing in the forum markup codes....

Yes I agree. I'm sure that it would take minutes for someone like Alex to get url's to appear hyperlinked automatically. It would be also nice to be able to type :) and have a smilie show up........but maybe I'm to obsessed with VBulletin Wink

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the feedback, next time I do some work on the forum, I'll look at adding this in.

Cheers,

Alex

Paul,

The reason that automatic smilies are NOT a good thing is that when posting codes, they get screwed up with smilies...look at old UBB posts in this forum...very annoying...

So, I would prefer not to have automatic smilies...

Thanks.
