G-Comm functions?
OK, might as well start bugging the GT staff for this.

a list of functions that will come with G-Comm:

a request for a calender with schedule abilities has been made.
I'd like to have emailling lists!

also could you expand on what is meant by:

Quote:
an integrated package of our forum, email and directory system.

Does this mean that the plugin is capable of running by itself? Or does it actually mean that LinksSQL / G-Forums / email will work together only?

another good idea would be the possibility to add the users of the linkssql_user-table to the user-table of gossamer_forum. this should work with the possibility to define user-presettings for the gforum_profiles.

I see Excite at Home may be closed by a judge on Friday. Any idea when GT-Community will be available? It would be really nice to be able to pick up these users when Excite closes and they are looking for something new.

Excite web portal was apparently purchased by InfoSpace.com and continues on as Excite.com. For a while, the excite portal was not being updated. It seems to be operating like it did before the excite bankruptcy.

One would have to presume GT-Comm will include more than just a unified login among various GT and non-GT scripts. This has basically already been accomplished and released with GT-Forum and connecting GT-Links and the othe BB software.

In the GT newsletter of several months ago, Alex mentioned two new products to keep your customers informed. One was probably a calendar script that Jack Ong mentioned some time ago on the Forum. The new product that would keep customers up to date would probably be a news publishing script. Once you have forum software, it is relatively not that far to a news publishing script. The same forum components can be basically re-used for the GT-Links comment system.

So GT-Comm would probably be a way to integrate GT-Forum/Mail/Links/News into a portal site. GT-Comm would probably pull newest links, threads and news items off the various scripts and present them on the portal page.

Anyway, guessing what GT will do is an enjoyable passtime until the announce the new products.
