Please read (cron job)!
Hi! Is it possible with Windows to create a program that would launch at 12 midnight and run nph-build.cgi If it is easier, (probably is) how would I get it to launch an internet shortcut (nph-build.url) to go at 12 midnight. Let me know how I can go about this!! Thanks Smile

I know win98 and nt both come with a scheduler program. You could just add 'perl nph-build.cgi' to the list of tasks to run.

Hope that helps,

Alex

If you don't have (or even if you do) Win98 or WinNT, you could try out ClockMan95. It is one of the best Windows event handlers I have ever seen. Comes with WIL (Windows Interface Language) that allows you to write custom scripts to do just about anything you want from your system, to include internet related things. It is my scheduler of choice on my Win95 system. Note: It is a commercial program but you can download a 30-day demo.

Details are available at http://www.graphicaldynamics.com/products.html#dlcm95

I hope this is useful.

THANKS, ALEX! I totally forgot that the NT Resource Kit comes with WinAt! I tested it on a few scripts and it worked like a charm!

Of course, it still remains to be seen how this will affect our server (in terms of virtual memory and processing).

Thanks again!

Hey USFJoseph1,
Looking at your problem I remembered that I had same problem before, and now decided to write a program specially for this Smile

The program is for Windows 98, since I got no Windows 95 Smile
Size: 20 Kb
Requirements: VB5 runtime library

I can send it to you by email, just let me know. OK?

Regards,

Pasha

USFJoseph1,
This is not a Perl script. This is an actual application (program) for Windows 98.
I'll send it to you in few minutes Smile

Regards,

Pasha
