Newbie help importing CJ links to personal shopping portal
Hello! I am very happy I found this forum-what a greate place this is!!

As a newbie here, I am looking for help too. I have attempted to set up a website-shopping portal/directory- based on links from my CommissionJunction, Reporting.Net (BeFree), and LinkShare affiliates accounts. However, as my user name suggests, I am totally clueless when it comes to php, java, mysql, programing, web design...etc., etc., etc. Crazy For the past year or so, I have been adding and deleting links/banners to/from my site, manually. Pirate What a crazy idiot, you may think I am, right!

I know there is a better and much easier way to accomplish the task of updating links and banners--I just don't know how to. Frown I use MS FrontPage to edit my site and could use some help in setting up some categories and/or creating scripts to import links and banners codes directly from my affiliates data sources (or whichever better method you pros use in cases like this). Unsure If there is anyone out there who might be able and willing to help me --even if I had to pay to get it done--, I will greatly appreciate the assistance. Please take a look at my index page and email me with your comments or suggestions. http://www.fatsosoutlet.com/siteindex.htm.

The following are samples of sites that I like: http://www.specialslist.com/ http://onlinemegamall.com/ http://onlinemegamall.com/home.htm

I hope to be able to set up something similar to any of the above for my site. Please HELP!!!!

Thanks! Blush

How about Links2? (http://www.gossamer-threads.com/scripts/links/index.htm)

The answer is right under your nose :)

Hi Andy, good morning!

Thanks for your prompt reply. Funny how you suggest about "Links2" as if I knew what you are talking about! lol I love optimistic people!!!

Anyhow, I checked it out and...Crazy...I don't understand how it works. I checked the demo and I got totally lost. Forgive my ignorance, but I don't think it is what I need. But, then [again], what am I talking about?! I didn't see anything that would indicate to me that I would be able to use it with FrontPage, though.

Maybe I should just hire someone to do the job and set it up for me so that I only have to run the admin updates. (sigh) I think I'm too old and too blonde to learn all this! Anyway, I've been up all night and probably if I catch some 'zzzzzz' I might be able to revisit 'Links2' and try to undertand it.

Have a great day!

Sorry, I think I misunderstood your question. I thought you were trying to build a links database of Affiliate links.

I've re-read your question, and I'm not even sure if this is possible. Its probably gonna have to end up as a manual job Frown
