Played golf today in the sweltering heat in a competition and shot a 3 over par 75. My handicap is 6 so that's nett 69, 3 under. I'll be dropped to 5 now...wooo ...I can turn pro when I get to 4.
I think that a good player should beat a bad player. I don't like someone playing better then another person, then losing because of a handicap. I've always felt it was a way of making bad players feel like they have done alright after applying the handicap to their score.
A bad golfer should know that he is going to lose to a better, more experienced one. Thats the case in all sports. It's stupid trying to even it out. Cheers, Michael Bray
I suppose you have a point. But the majority of golfers in a club are of a mediocre standard and so if there were a handful of great golfers then they'd always win and all the other players would probably give up
