Yeah, we've been getting it weird too (in the UK). We've had mini-tornados, really bad rain (i.e lots and lots of floods)..and more. Seem like the weather system really is messed up Frown

El Niņo and La Niņa.... Didn't the press just go through a phase a couple years ago where they blamed everything on the weather?

Ahhh, thats them. Snow seems to have cleared up and we are now having sunshine.... wierd.

We don't get tornados in BC (that I know of). I am suprised to hear you get them in the UK actually. I figured they were more a mid latitude type of thing. I used to see them a lot when I was flying the southern Illinois and Kentucky areas in the States. Not a nice thing to see when you are in a small aircraft!

Andy's comment is kind of misleading....we don't actually get tornados "as such"...not US style anyway.

The biggest one I've seen was in the car park of my golf club......well I'd call it a whirlwind more than a tornado...it was about 10 feet high and about as powerful as a fart....it just drafted up a bit of dust off the floor but you could see it was whirling around.

We don't get like force 5 tornados wiping out cities :)

Sounds like someone I knowWink

Ahh, whirlwinds.... in Australia we called them dust-devils. Pretty cool to see, especially when they do pick up dirt, leaves and garbage.

Dirt Devil is a Vacuum Cleaner, the animal is the "Tasmanian Devil".

Yes, the height was slightly exaggerated.... 6'4 and plenty of currey is a more accurate description of him!

Nice stick figure Paul

The weird thing about that stick man was that in order to get it to align, I actually had to enter:

....wonder if this is a bug?

Hehe sorry.....

Q: What do the vacuum "Dirt Devil" and Viagra have in common?

A: They both put the power of an upright in the palm of your hand.

We know a have a wild hail storm going on! Weird.

As for the stick man...what is the default font for the forum? Is it the ">" character that takes up a different amount of space?

Nice page on the devil... good shots of the JAWS. I have seen these little eaters of death in a "petting zoo??!!" just outside of Launceston, Tasmania. Luckily these guys were not in the petting part!

We'e had a couple of nasty storms lately here in southwest Virginia. Couple of tornados wiping out some crappie little town and some baseball size hail several times this week.

For the past week the high temperature has been in the upper 90's (farenheight). Looks like it's gonna be a long, hot, dry summer for us. We've had a lot of smoke recently from a fire in Mexico. A couple of years ago when part of the rain forest was on fire, our days would look "overcast" from all of the smoke, and you could smell it in the air. It's amazing that the world is not quite as big as we think it is.

dust devils are cool!

The taz is one of my favorite looney tunes characters.

Also, it seems that the world is going through a cooling phase with the main current running from the Atlantic through and around the Pacific is slowly dropping in Temperature ... from Green House effect to Ice age. What's next?

Weather here, Cherry Blossoms are 2 weeks earlier than normal, snow fell in spurts ... last summer was actually more an autumn.

... it's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine ...

err I hope that's the way it went Angelic

Sunshine by the looks of things! Nothing like taking a jacket and an umbrella out on a sunny day. It seems you just never know anymore.

It's raining pretty bad again tonight. Just glad I'm not at work. Last time it stormed I was in the middle of helping a customer load a 35" tv into her van just as it started to hail.

Damn storms are getting on my nerves. Severe thunderstorm warnings issued by the local National Weather Service until 8 tonight, and wind advisory from 8 pm to 10 am I think.

I woke up this morning and my monitor was making this rapid-fire clicking noise and the power light cycled between orange and green. Power surge must have blown something in my monitor, despite being hooked up through a surge protector.

I took it back to the store and got this: 19" KDS model XF-9e.

it cost me $20 more for it.

Wasn't there, but I heard there were 5 in California and one in Alaska. Highest was a 4.2 and some freaks at a hockey game didn't even stop the game til it was over Crazy

I'll take blown pc parts in lieu of crapping my pants in an earthquake any day.

earthquakes are ligtening storms ... you ride them out and just hope that it doesn't hit your house.

It's definitely a weird feeling ... the floor rumbling under you, the building swaying ... the water in the fish tank sloshing back and forth.

I used to live on the 9th floor of a 15 story building ... that mother would sway like a tree in the wind. Luckly, it swayed or else the stiffness would've snapped the building in half. Of course, too much of a sway is bad too.

I like roller coasters but earthquake rollings are much worse.
