What an f'in surprise. 3 weeks I've been using IE6 and I have to download a major security patch.

http://www.microsoft.com/...ulletin/MS01-055.asp

Read this article if you really want to cheer yourself up and laugh out loud:

http://www.microsoft.com/.../security/noarch.asp

.... microsoft basically urges the security community to stop posting security threats and announcements in microsoft products because it can't keep track of how many bugs they receive a day ....

And if you really want to look popular and receive a hundred emails a day, sign up for the Microsoft Security Bulletin

http://www.microsoft.com/.../bulletin/notify.asp

They even call it - sign up for the "hot topics". haaha.

And look at the other headlines - these are absolutely hilarious!!!!!!!!!!:

"Get and Stay Secure: Microsoft unveils major security program"

"Manage Security of Your Windows IIS Web Services" - yeah - switch the damn thing OFF.

"Best Practices for Applying Service Packs, Hotfixes and Security Patches" - because you'll be doing this every day until you stop using our products so you better get used to it.

What a joke. joke. joke.

How can you possibly defend them?

We use Outlook for the following shared tasks (via our Exchange server):

1) Scheduling meetings and events
2) Sending broadcast messages
3) Sharing notes

The main benefit is the network sharing of calendars, which helps to schedule meetings. Yes, there are other apps like Netscape Calendar, but the Enterprise version of that app is expensive and no longer supported.

Buh Bye!

Hi

We're using outlook for exactly the same reasons but not off a server. I found out that if I had just had a copy of outlook (normal) running on the sever which was open at all times then it can do the job just fine. Just choose to share your task, calendar, notes and address book with multiple recipients. One way to dodge the liscence cost of Exchange :-)

Laugh hmmm ... AMD vs ARM... err I wonder.

I have no clue but I don't think that IBM or Motorola could be that bad at making chips.

I'm still at 400 on a G4 chip haven't felt the need to upgrade beyond the idea that I want a faster computer. G4 chips have Altivec/Velocity engine pegged to it.

Since I don't do video I don't a bigger chip and OSX has given my machine an extra life span.

hmmmm .... Angelic
