I can remember Alex saying that the hits went up a lot when the forum links were

rewritten to be Google friendly. I think there can be to much of a good thing .

I come to this forum for Gossamer related stuff!

I am getting bored by junior access developers asking general sql questions all over

the place.

I don't blame them .

When I do searches on google for asp.net stuff quite often I get links to forum posts.

We can't really complain when people then post to a nice looking forum.

Maybe keep the rewriting for the public demo of links and the forum and leave this forum

to people that want to use it to discuss gossamer products.

Yes I'm sure Alex and the gang just hate, hate I tell ya, people surfing in off of unrelated search links and finding out about Gossamer products

I'm not sure which posts you are referring too. How are they stopping you discussing GT products?

Its not so much the questions that are a problem, but is this the right forum to ask them.

I read many forums asp, sql, perl etc. I post to the most relevant.

I come here to discuss Goassamer products and related issues.

I agree that these can encompass other areas, but the focus should be Gossamer products.

What annoys me most is when people don't bother reading the forum descriptions and post in the main "Discussion" forum. Ugh.

Anyhow, the post you linked to is now in the "Databases and SQL" forum where it should have been.

This is a difficult situation for any forum. Even more so when the forum has

built the software.

I have no problem helping people with general questions, its just in a forum

like Gossamer the platform and languages can be infinite.

This forum is not the place for general sql queries, there are better forums

spilt by language and platform that can better serve these questions.

ps . Did community ever get released ?

GT setup the SQL forum for general SQL queries. Maybe they intended it to be used by their own clients more so than "outsiders" but I guess the odd question asked by a new user isn't too much of a problem.
