Spooky Server
This is what happens when you mess around with your LAN settings Frown

You type a website address into your browser and it diverts you back to your local Apache installation making it appear like you've overtaken the website Wink

Ok the weird thing about this is it is still happening. Any other website I visit loads correctly. Only rackshack.net brings me back to my local server. Very weird.

The investigation continues...

I think I've found the cause of this behaviour, but before I explain, can anyone who has a local webserver installed click this link:

http://rackshack.net

For what it's worth, same as you:

When Apache not running: Cannot find server or DNS Error

When Apache running: local installation

Thanks for the reply.

For some reason rackshack.net is pointing to 127.0.1.1 - you can verify this by doing a whois at netsol.com

I know that RackShack is now ev1servers.com but I didn't think they had shut down their domain name. Even if they have, I'm not sure why it's pointing to 127.0.1.1.

I thought it had to be pointing to 127.0.1.1 (local IP) for us to see what we are seeing. News to me, I thought rackshack.com was still active domain. Have you tried asking them?
