Porche, VW, Audi -- Same Family Wink
haha, poor man's porche. Hmm, more like relaxed old man's porche.

I'm a porche die hard. Although, a Nissan GTR wouldn't be bad either.

A fellow teacher at school won a 300Zx (Fairlady Z) for just doing a bit of photoshop work, and cutting out a paper car and sent it in to a magazine company. Won first place with his design.

ughh, looked horrible, his design. But, I guess that's why he won. haha

hmmmm .... Porche 959 Wink

I'm going to settle for my new, smaller Alfa. I've now become a sucker for Italian cars, although I'm a little curious as to how food the build quality is over time.

Is that the 147?

This months "What Car?" magazine gives it 3/5 ....what surprised me is that its top speed is 119 whilst the new mini is 120

Mine gets 4/5 but I won't tell you what it is Blush

It got car of the year 2001 when it first appeared. The max I've got out of it is 105. Didn't really want to push it fruther than that -- it was red lining as it was. Maybe the 2 litre version can do a bit more, I'm not sure. I've got the 1.6 version, partly because noone would insure me on the 2 litre version with my 6 points. :-(

I'm slightly confused how a 19 yr old friend of mine got insured on his brand spanking Mini Cooper S ...insurance group 15 which is the same as a Jaguar X-type 2.5 V6 Sport

Just out of curiousity, how much do you pay for insurance there?

My dad is the named driver for my car which is a bad idea I guess as I'll have a huge premium when I eventually get my own insurance, but anyway, I pay £600 p.a which is about $850 USD

The shitty monopolized auto insurance here in British Columbia means I'm paying over 3 grand (canadian) on insurance this year, at a 5% reduction from base insurance cost (woohoo!) on my 2001 4 door Accord, and that's with a limitation of only driving it to work a maximum of 6 days a month. Pirate

Insurance for my 1.6 which I drive costs me around £1400pa. The insurance for the 2 litre (if an insurance company would take me) would of cost me more than £3000.

I suppose if you're buying one of these, several tens of thousands of dollars of insurance is nothing.

Dear Jason , ICBC may be shitty in your opinion, but it is a real Insurance deal which you insure your vehicle.

Seems to me if you have only 6 days to drive to work you are insuring your vehicle as "pleasure only".

Pleasure only is not for to and from work over 6 days !

In the end it will not matter as ICBC will pay investigators big bucks to make sure your insurance is valid

before paying out a claim which exceeds a preset ICBC amount.

We are supposed to buy insurance against insured risks. [ ICBC don't care less ]

As a Stupid Example :

A commercial truck is not supposed to buy to and from work insurance because it includes 6 days of commercial usage included.

And then the commercial truck will say the accident occured on one of these days ? Yeah right ! Buy right insurance.

----------

I buy additional ICBC insurance against people who do not have the right insurance. I pay $25 pa for this

for 1 million coverage. I guess You might be the reason why I spend this money.

ICBC and their AUTOPLAN agents generally do not alert you to this policy or others you can buy.

ICBC or any other insurance company in the world is looking to collect more money than they pay out.

thanks

Hi cornball,

Although I realize that many people (probably even most people) do take advantage of this, I am not one of them - I make a point of observing that 6 days, and if I were to move where I wouldn't be able to easily walk to work as I usually do now, I would put myself back on the full insurance. I suppose it is because of people abusing it that the difference it made was so minimal - something like 3100 compared to 2900 (for the year). I was surprised that the difference was so tiny.

I'm also annoyed that ICBC doesn't take into accounts things like secured parking - in most private insurance companies' books, secure home parking will get you a discount. Does it not seem reasonable that someone who drives their car once a week and parks in a gated parking lot pay quite a bit less than someone who drives 30 km a day, every day, and parks their car on the street (which used to be the case with me)?
