cadlight or something like it
I have been told by my boss to find a program to purchase that would allow me to draw 1 or 2D drawings for our internal training needs. These drawings would only have staright lines, rounded corners, and some text inside. They are jewelry trays that would go in a showcase and we want to lay out where each tray is positioned inside the different showcases. Plus have ability to move their positions within each layout. I have no cad background. So from limited questioning, think I really don't need cad but some basic drawing program. It also would need to convert a file to be accessable into either a .doc file or HTML. Can someone give me a suggestion of a program to start my search looking at?

Don't any of the basic windows programs do this, like paint?

What about photoshop?

How about http://gimp.org/ ? Its a great GNU image editing program...originally designed for UNIX server, but now has been ported over as a Windows based on too Smile This shouldn't be mixed up with the other GIMP, which are known for spamming, and basically being idiots Frown

Visio is a user friendly program that could handle all of that, used by lots of businesses.
