View Source - IE6
When I upgraded to IE6, my View Source thing went dead.

Doesn't work with either the right click or the toolbar.

Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks very much.

Maybe you haven't associated an editor with it?

Tools => Internet Options => Programs (sub tab) => HTML Editor.

What's defined there?

This is a stupid question, but... have you closed Explorer and re-opened it? I've noticed that some times the "view source" button and right-click menu are greyed-out for whatever reason (in all versions) and that closing explorer and reopening it brings the buttons/links back. Why? I don't know. Otherwise, it hasn't been a permanent problem that I know of.

Good Luck!

Thanks, all. I rebooted, and it's working okay.

If it happens again, I'll delete the temp files.

Thanks, again.

I too had this problem of nothing happening when View Source was selected from IE6. The above solutions did not work.

I rebuilt my cookies and then all is well. From IE6
  1. File / Import and Export
  2. Export Cookies - save to a new area (e.g. c:\temp)
  3. Import Cookies - import the file you just saved

hmmm...found this thread by doing a search since I have the same problem.

Unfortunately, none of the above solutions have worked for me. I have deleted all temp filkes and cookies...rebooted.

The only work around I have is to associate my Edit button in IE to Notepad and use that to see a page source...doesn't help me with framed docs though.

Any other news on this bug?

thanks

I had this problem for months, then one day it just came good.

I don't rember doing anything special either.... may an upgrade and a reboot, but thats all I can think of.

Actually it was around the time I reinstalled IIS

This is just a test post. I'm looking for good BBS software for a website we are starting. My particular puter setup is not compatible with DCForums or UBB, and I want to see if Gossamer is, because it looks very impressive from what I have seen so far!

On the subject of IE 6, it's always a good idea to clean your disk (Accessories --> Disk Cleanup) every time you log off the internet, at a minimum.
