Favorite Programming Music
What music gets your programming mind cranked up?

For me I would say Disturbed, Powerman 5000, Alien Ant Farm, Rob Zombie and more. Of course it has to be real loud as well! Cool This is especially true in the late afternoon after 6 or 7 hours behind the keyboard.

What's yours?

I usually listen to http://www.mostlyclassical.com/ or something from http://www.digitallyimported.com/. I throw in Primus or NIN every once in a while. There are a few others but that is what I listen too most of the time. It doesn't really mater what it is as long as it's music :)

hehehe

I think it is a standard to listen to music when designing.

Out goes Powerman and in goes ZZ Top Tejas (I need to mellow it out a bit as the coffee is kicking in full stream now!Tongue

Classical is cool as well as light jazz when creating a design that is visually soft and upscale.

But if I played that in the mid afternoon my head would snap back and I would start snoring. LOL

I've got over 1,500 songs in my Winamp playlist and it just goes around all day on Random. As of writing this, however, I'm listening to a track off the Chemical Brother's latest album.

I gotta agree with ya. I can't work with some kind of music in the background. I normally just stick the radio on though....Radio 1 and Mercury FM are my favs Wink Nice variety of all music (POP/Hip-Hop etc)...

Just my opinion Smile

Radio 1 have (or are in the process of) starting a new channel called Radio1 R&B dedicated to so called 'black' music.

Rhythm and Blues is historically a form pionered by black artists. Is Radio 1 doing a true R&B format or is it R&B/Hip Hop?

One is a rich art form, the other is just.....well opinions may vary... Tongue

Hmmm, I listen to everyting from Vivaldi to The Three Tenors... but for hard core coding, nothing beats:
  • Rammstein
  • Techno

If it is late at nice (my fav. of all music styles):
  • Jazz (smooth jazz or big band), john coultrane in particular

I have the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra I believe, it's pretty good.
Forgot to mention Hum, there a great band from the 90's but they broke up about a year or so ago. Too bad.

Later,

During the week it's kut.org (eklektikos in the morning and npr news in the afternoon) and on weekends it's something off of one of the satellite channels - I can't put in any of my favorite CD's because I'll end up listening to them instead of working.
