Is the government going to do this to every single corporation or something??

Did they even have a lead? or is this just "to make sure"?

Yes they had more than a lead with AOL.

And truthfully, if the SEC wanted to look into every company they would not have the manpower to do it. SO they seem to be focusing on heavy publically funded companies with creative accounting practices.

Well.. I guess I won't be getting anymore of those Free 40 day trial CDs in the mail. Hooray for the SEC!

I wonder who's next.

where's the good in that? I actually use those disks to put my cups on on my desk to keep from ruining the wood. The aluminum cases and DVD cases I've been getting lately are even more usefull for the hundreds of CDR's I've got lying about.

You're actually right. I happened to get another one today, but no dvd case/tin case. I got a cardboard backing instead.

They should make a law to put those things on CD-RWs so they'd actually be useful to people.

Our office used to be across the atrium from Hoovers (as in www.hoovers.com) and they had their CD's hanging from the ceiling so that the outer part of the office looked like a disco.

So our wacky publications department (read that creative, macintosh type) started doing the same thing. They said it was a form of "communication" kind of like the sounds/lights in Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind.

More likely they'll send more out attempting to slow the customer bleed-off.
