My Computer
Alright, this post is going to be a little big ;)

It's not quite done; I still have to varnish the front panel, add a knob for the reset button (the right one), and change the handles on the left panel to something cooler. And, by the way, that power LED on the left changes colour Cool.

Really cool! Good work. Now you need to buy one of those 5.25 pc monitoring devices with an LCD read out, that tells you the temp of the case, proc., etc. Cool

BTW: I love the water cooled heat sink... Too cool...

True. I wonder how difficult it would be to make CD and floppy drive face plates out of wood... hmm...

Jason,

Have you thought about breaking out your miter box, some wood trim pieces, and framing the drive cut outs on the front face? It would hide the gaps and clean things up a bit.

Wink

Then you should send your project drawings to Norm!

Yeah, I did, and I even went so far as to buy a length of crown, but I couldn't find any sufficiently small pine crown or quarter-round, and I don't think it would look as good if it was a darker wood. But I'm still keeping my eyes open.

If you've got some scrap molding laying around, you could rip it down. Might be a little delicate but should be doable.

I sat and looked at my computer case for about 10 mins after seeing your pictures, and then successfully talked myself out of it Cool

Couple of rubber grommets or washers could dress up LEDs and reset switch. Paint them brown and glue down.

Then you could start carving some relief details in the side panels!

But, if I come up with the perfect computer case all at once, I'll have nothing more to do!

Did you actually make that yourself?...the entire thing?

Re: [Paul] My Computer In reply to
No, actually my dad did most of it as a Christmas present that I requested, but I decided how everything should look, picked out the boards, packed it up to ship it across the continent, drilled the holes for the buttons and lights in the front, and sanded and varnished it.

Norm today was making a 10 foot dining table - ugh he was talking about how to use geometry for creating angled wedges...I kinda lost track after one sentence.
