And are you concentrating on your resultant number
Works for me most times, but not always - must be too distracted with other matters =)

Damn, I was about to say it didn't work but I got my calculation wrong....it's worked every time so far...there must be a mathematical reason...

Re: [Paul] Mind Reader

There is.. consider:
11 = 1 + 1 = 11 -2 = 9
12 = 1 + 2 = 12 - 3 = 9
13 = 1 + 3 = 13 - 4 = 9
..
21 = 2 + 1 = 21 - 3 = 18
22 = 2 + 2 = 21 - 4 = 18
..
You'll notice all multiples of 9 are the same symbol.
Cheers,
Alex

I still don't get it though. All you do is click the "glass ball"...it doesn't know what number you've picked. How can it get the right symbol each time?

Because whichever two-digit number you pick, add the digits and subtract and you'll end up with a multiple of 9. Every time the page loads, all of the multiples of 9 have the same symbol next to them. That symbol will invariably appear when you click the crystal ball.

My bad - I didn't realise that the symbols changed with each click until just now.

Hmm thats tough and funny!
It seems you can't have 3 balls remaining on different rows on your turn otherwise you get rid of one and he gets rid of the other and wins...Ugh.

Well, the first time I played I didn't think of any number and it returned a symbol. So clearly that's wrong. :-)
The second, I ended with a result < 6, which it then gets confused, I think.

Re: [Alex] Mind Reader

I started off with the number 15.
1 + 5 = 6.
15 - 6 = 9.
I lookup 9 on the table, and it has a [ ] (square) symbol, I click the button and I get fuzzy lines.
Cheers
