Image Virus
Hi All

I caught a little snippet on the tube about a new kind of virus...one that can infect an image file.

The name of the virus started with a "P", I think.

Does anyone know anything more??

Thanks.

Thanks for the heads up! Just checked our anti-virus vendor's website, and indeed you are right:

I don't think that is the virus he's talking about ;)

Attached file: tattoo.exe, euro.exe or tettona.exe.

May want to have a look at:

Seems it only is of concern if you are already infected with another virus, sheesh.

Cheers,

Alex

Interesting article, Alex. Thanks.

I guess the lingering question would be, "Hmmm...maybe TODAY the infected image files can't execute anything...but what about tomorrow?"

What I mean is that most users would rather be safe than sorry.

I agree that the anti-virus guys could take advantage of lots of folks, but once you've been through a virus disaster, you never want to go through it again.

Update and scan, update and scan....it's cheap insurance... Smile

Thanks, again, for tracking that down, Alex !! Cool Cool
