Hosting
Hi! Anyone can recommend a good hosting company. Say like webspace >100Mb, MySQL database, 10 emails, shell access, perl, php, server error logs, good tech support for less than <$100 per year?

Will appreciate if anyone could enlighten me on this and if you do not fell comfortable recommending or not recommending hosting companies on the forum, please contact me at websupport@vampirovibrio.com

Thanks.
Julian

I am in the process of setting up a small hosting company, details can be seen here.

For GT users I have permission from Jack Ong, to offer a resell feature / affilate of there scripts and to this note I will empower a special deal to all GT users, see this thread for more details.

If anyone is interested in hosting, I am totally flexible with prices, even to the extent that if you are running a charity based org, I will set up and provide free deals.

Please private message me for details

If you want quality hosting, you have to pay for it. For $8 a month, you're going to get what you pay for.

EDIT: and the thing to look at is bandwidth - how much do you anticipate using and what are the "cheap" hosts going to charge you if you actually starting moving some.

Thanks to all who replied to my post. I'm looking at them right now. I also found a webhosting company by the name of tera-byte. Anyone heard of it before? Any comments?

Wow - things really have taken off here! First time I've visited in about 8-10 months Smile

I would strongly advise not to go with Tera-byte (www.tera-byte.net). I was with them for almost a year and they were crap!

I'm now with dot5hosting.com and would strongly advise you go for them. My experience with them so far has been superb Cool

Yes I've using tera-byte for three months.

Stay away from them. Bad hosting service.

Strange.

I have several sites with Tera-Byte, one of which I've had for about three years, and have had no major problems with them.

Most weeks they have 100% uptime (I use an independant monitoring service), and email support has always given a prompt reply to queries.

They also send out emails to inform users of any scheduled maintenance.

tera-byte.com was also on my short (alphabetized) list. Compiled from research at cnet, webhostingtalk and sitepointforums,

burlee.com
dreamhost.net
futurequest.net
hostcentric.com
hostrocket.com
interland.com
liquidweb.com
olm.net
pair.com
site5.com
spidersaid.com
superb.net
tera-byte.net
venturesonline.com
westhost.com

I am with WestHost and have not had any major problems. Keep an eye out for good hosts incase something changes and I have to move.
