May be Amazon or Microsoft will offer these services...Don't know if you heard but both Microsoft and Amazon (A9 Search Service) are both competing in the "Search Engine" space. In the short-term, don't know what to tell you, but it seems that this may be a marketable niche that these competitors can capitalize on...hehe!

hm... actually it appears to be all of Google Groups. either they're discontinuing the service or their servers are screwed up.

yeah, comp.lang.perl.misc mysteriously reappered, but the rest is still missing. something's just majorly screwed up in their system, as there are quite a few gaps in other groups, and some active groups show as being inactive in the indicator bar of their parent category.

about what time? it was messed up from at least 10 pm Eastern, and groups started slowly reappearing several hours later.
