Finding Opposite Colors

Finding Opposite Colors
Hi All

You know when you're using a wysiwyg editor and you drag your cursor over some cells in a table, the color of the cells turns the opposite color?

I'm trying to figure out how to get the RGB or other number that matches that opposite color.

The reason is that I was fooling around with some colors I didn't really like, but when I dragged my cursor over those cells, I loved the colors they turned into.

Is there some formula or such that I can try to ferret out what those opposite colors are?

Here are the original colors:

a68ba6
cfc8cf

What are their opposites?

I'm using Frontpage (don't know if that makes a difference).

Many thanks! Smile

You could use Photoshop or another tool which displays RGB values of colors. eg....

I use PaintShop Pro (v. 7), which is very nice.

The problem is trying to get the RGB of the "opposite" colors.....the ones that are displayed after you drag across a cell.

Example:
1. Simple table, red cell color
2. Drag cursor over cell to select it (or select it somehow)
3. Cell turns light blue while selected
4. What the heck is the RGB of that light blue color?

See what I mean? It's the RGB of that opposite color that I'm after.

Thanks for that link, though, too. I always like graphics stuff, even though I stink at graphics. Frown

Cheerios! Smile

Can you not match it up using the color picker?

I tried the color picker in PSP, but when I pull the eye dropper over the target area, it died.

However......

I just tried the eyedropper in Frontpage, and it worked....i-a-dummie!

You can't do a right click to call up the cell color window. You have to first select the cells, then go to the toolbar up top and navigate to the cell properties. This pulls up the color table and from there you can get the eye dropper. Your cells should still be selected, and then run over them. Shazam! There's the number!

Thanks for hanging with me on this one, Paul !! Smile

The way I do it in PSP is to selct the cell and then use PSP`s full screen capture and then use the eye dropper on the captured image.
