Interesting...wonder what affect this decision will have on the AOL domain....I am sure that they will have to keep aol.com, but the removal of AOL, which has, unfortunately, become a household name in the US may no longer "exist"....I guess it would be better to have a simpler title of Time Warner rather than AOL Time Warner.

I'm really surprised that they would give up the AOL name recognition like that. Like you said, it's a household name here. I'm sure that aol.com will forward to the new timewarner.com web site :)

My understanding was that they were just taking AOL off of AOL Time Warner. AOL as a division will still be called AOL.

That is correct, but in terms of marketing, my understanding is that they are going to use Time Warner, rather than AOL Time Warner. Although you're correct, that the AOL "division" would remain in-tact...just cuious how this brand change will affect consumers.
