This Thread is for Version 2.0.X of Editor Monitor
Example of what is new to this version:
Editor Statistics Tag
<%Plugins::EditorMonitor::EditorStats($Username)%> Use this tag to produce statistic about a particular editor. Can be used in the the editor's browser (browser_info.html), for your own purposes, or anywhere on your web site. The graph is capped at 250, meaning any bar graph which exceeds 250 pixels in length will be automatically resized together with its partner graph to half its size. This maintains correct proportion between the two lines for comparative purposes.
Example Output:
NEW TO 2.0 !
*Added next phase of Editor Signup. Including validation/rejection system with email templates for both validation and rejection.
*Added a new custom tag. Current monthly editor activity. This tag returns the editing activity (number) for the month so far. Useful for displaying to the editor in their browser.
*Added a new custom tag: EditorStats. Graphs and compares the editor's monthly activity (broken down into all areas of editing) with the monthly averages of all editors. Great for motivating your editors and keeping a closer eye on who is perfoming, and who isn't.
*Added ability to click on an editor in the 'Who's Online' and bring up their statistics.
*Updated documentation
More on release information soon.

Where abouts is the date you wish to change?
http://www.iuni.com/...tware/web/index.html
Links Plugins
It should follow your admin->date_settings.... looks like I may have forget to set this, I'll check it.
EDIT: What date format do you have set for: date_db_format?
Thanks

I could change it so there is a seperate day/month/year tag for you to put in any format you like?

I'll take a look at the code and see what works out best.....

<%EM_Since_Year%> Example: 2002
<%EM_Since_Month%> 07
<%EM_SInce_Day%> 31
I will need to add these new tags to both EditorMonitor.pm (for statid profile creation) and emprofile.cgi (for dynamic profile creation).
http://www.iuni.com/...tware/web/index.html
Links Plugins
dd-mm-yyyy
You would put <%EM_Since_Day%>-<%EM_Since_Month%>-<%EM_Since_Year%> in your profile template. And of course swap the order or fomating to whatever you like, for example you could then have:
04:03:2002 or 14/12/2002
or 04 (day) 03 (month) 2002 (year) if you thought your readers needed the tip. (just kidding now)
I have just put this into EM master code, but it is untested. I will test it then add it to 2.0.1.

It works... your wish is my command. I can upload 2.0.1 now unless you have any other last minute requests?

Version 2.0.1 Released
Note: Editor Monitor (and my other plug-ins) are now available for downloadload through the Links SQL download area. Current versions will no longer be placed in my private download area. Only change is Brian's date suggestion above :)

Following on from a suggestion for User Monitor, I am thinking of implementing a new set of reward automation features into Editor Monitor as follows: (the use of this feature would be optional)
Automatic deposit of rewards into Editors reward accounts as actions are performed:
Category_Add_Reward
Category_Modify_Reward
Category_Delete_Reward
Link_Add_Reward
Link_Modify_Reward
Link_Delete_Reward
Link_Validate_Reward
Editor_Reward_Multiplier <<<- allows you to increase rewards added for each particular editor on an individual bases... example one editor could have a multiplier of 2, which means they would get twice as many rewards as another with 1.
The problem with this system is that once the editor realise how rewards can be earned the couuld add and delete links or categories in a meaningless way, just to increase their rewards.

Can we change the application review format to be similar to the links one.. Meaning that the Admin can change fields in case of misspilling or so.. and the reject e-mail is in the bottom so the Admin can add specific reason per applicant?

Keep them coming everyone... they may take a while to put in, but they will eventually get there, even if it is EM3
I am going to be away for about a week (may be check in once or twice for support questions in between)... thanks very much for all the great suggestions.

I have been receiving requests for a feature list, customer comments, screenshots and example websites using EM (as well as for my other plug-ins) since I made versions 1.
You have all heard the story about me not having a lot of time, and this week is a great example of this.
Anyways, I thought I would sneak this post in tonight, as I am going to make an effort to get a page up for each plug-in starting with a future version of EM.
You can see the work in progress for EM3 here: http://www.iuni.com/custom/EM/em3.html. While I have not even begun EM3 (EM2 has only just been released), there is nothing like planning ahead, maybe my feature list on this page will become a todo list.
What I would really appreciate from anyone or a couple of people even is something to put into my "customer comments" and "sites using EM" section. Just email me at iuni, or send a pm. Also one or two really cool screen shots would be nice. I am looking for a range of things to show, something other than just my site :)
I apologise for the site being quite basic (and containing errors) at this stage, but I am going to fix it all up later this week.
Thanks very much!

Have a special tag that can be assigned by an editor (one per calendar month) that gives that link an Editors Choice marking.
Should show above the Link Title:
EDITORS CHOICE August 2002
Link Title
Link Decription
Etc...
Have the tag stay on the link for full term as well. This will give a little more power to the editor.
My site is http://www.2muslims.com/directory/
About EM and its support by 2muslims.com webmaster:
Features:
The features you can find on IAN web site are just a portion ofd what this plug in is cabable of.
The Modifications were made easy through the editor monitor, the Globals those are built in are more than most of us will need.. although we can always use
Support:
The support that IAN provides is superior, quick and exclusive so the limited support you see on his official page is just a stetment that is far from the truth...
Upgrades:
IAn has done very much all requested add ons ad mods those he was asked for in a very short time...

I am not sure if this is right or not but I upgraded the plugin today to 2.0.1 and when I select the "editors online" it not only shows the editors but also the registered users and non registered users.
So if all three are showing is that right?

It is just my opinion, but I think just seeing the editors in the EM would be best. Most people have stats programs that can see the other traffic *in general. And the UM would be able to see all registered users.
It also seperates the two plugins a bit more.
Just a thought!
I think a form on the profile page which masks the email address or goes through a cgi file would be appropriate. A form may take up too much room on some sites though... ideas on this?
http://www.iuni.com/...tware/web/index.html
Links Plugins
I would say that a small form that uses cgi to do the mailing by accessing the users email address is the right answer.
It would take up about 3 vertical inches or so on the page and could be placed after the profile to keep it below the fold.
I like the idea, but that is just my opinion of course.
Yes, this is to do with Links' session files. They seem to hang around until there is a change.
Try logging in as a user, that should clear it all out.
I am not exacty sure how to 'fix' this, as I don't know how to modify the way the session files are created or deleted through a plug-in.
It used to be a problem on my site when there were quiet periods (no log in or log outs for longer than the admin settings' session time limit), but as the traffic builds on your site, it will no longer be an issue, as the session files will be constantly changing.
What to do?
http://www.iuni.com/...tware/web/index.html
Links Plugins
I am not sure what format I will put this into, but I have added a "contact the editor" into my todo list.
http://www.iuni.com/...tware/web/index.html
Links Plugins
I had an idea for EM.
What if there was a way to give rewards to current editors when they refer a new editor?
It asks for a reference in the new editor sign up already, so all that would need to be figured out is the reference between the application and the rewatds system.
The reference request in the application is currently a text box. Maybe a drop down with all the editors names? This will allow for an accurate submission!
Just a thought!
I am sure it could be done by setting a value in the form (Yes No) along with the name.
But it would be hard (for the code) to detect if someone is making it up. They could have just pulled a name from off your site, or an editor's profile page.

2 more ideas for EM!
1. Editor Reviews
Allow registered members to review an editors performance and post them to be seen in the editors profile section.
2. Editor Articles
Allow editors to create a newsletter article that is linked from the editor profile and can be included in the newsletter for the site as well.
EDIT: a third and forth one...
3. Editor Ratings
Allow an editor to rate a site and show the editor rating on the sites detail page or within the link.html template.
4. Editor Featured Site
Allow the editor to choose one site per category as a featured listing for a calendar month. Upon choosing the site the "Editors' Featured Site" would show up on the link.html and detailed templates.
Just a thought!
I had already added a user rating/editor rating system to my todo list, so hopefully this would help.
I like #4, that sounds like a particulary good one!

Just hang in there everyone, it may not be that soon, but I will be making EM3 (and major updates to all of the plugins for that matter).
In case you don't know already, I am without a computer right now.... I am using either my mom's computer or whatever I can get my hands on. So thats why all is quiet on the plug-in front at the moment.

I think I answered this one in a pm :) I am also going to add it to my "tips".
(I've added another poll to the EM support: Should editors be able to do a build changed?)
http://www.iuni.com/...tware/web/index.html
Links Plugins
The more I delve into the EM plugin the more I see the need for an editor to be able to add their comments and/or rating to a link. I can really see this as a big feature that not only allows a greater amount of interactivity with the editor it also adds a personal touch to the listing as well.
While an editor may find a link fits into a specific category it may need a qualifying comment to really communicate the reference and relevance.
UN would not need it as they have a review and rating system to use. It is just the editors that are left out hanging.
Thoughts?

You have the ability to filter our regular users from the 'whoson' by setting the Whoson_Filter = 1 (default is 0) in the EMSettings table. This will cause the 'whoson' function to only show you Editors online.
