Webmaster33-

I love plugins and have bought several. I love it when people develop new ones. Yours sounds very good, and I don't even think $95 is expensive. Personally, I don't mind at all if people post most things in the Links SQL Discussions category. But, lets face it, you have been very strict with others about where they post, and have rudely hammered the moderators about being inconsistent, so when I saw that you posted something that was very, very specifically about a Plugin for Links SQL, but you didn't put it in the category for Links SQL Plugins, I just had to mention it. Quite honestly, if anyone else had posted the same post there, I wouldn't have given it a second thought. It was kind of small of me, and maybe I'm the only one who sees things this way. I think you've provided a lot of valuable information and advice to people in this forum, and I'll stop posting about this, as it doesn't really help anyone, and I'm sorry to have wasted anyone's time.

Hi Frank,

First thanks you nice words you wrote defending me & my plugin.

However, I feel I have to clear 2 things:
  • Yes, I was telling the users if I felt they went away from the topic of a thread. And will do this in future, too. Because we want a readable, searchable, helpful forum, where you can find info easily.
Do you want the same, right?
And warned users, if they posted PHP related posts to Discussions or Plugins forum. Because I believe, the PHP forum is JUST for that subject! The PHP topic was the only case type, when I warned users to post to PHP forum.
But I don't remember even a case, when I warned anybody because posted to Discussions forum, except if was PHP related, what I felt inappropiate!
Judge it yourself, but I think my case wasn't any of above.

  • <quote>"hammered the moderators about being inconsistent"</quote>
Yes, and I was right. Especially against Paul. He filled many-many times my threads, with arguments which was not related to the subject. Also in those cases, when users went away from the subject, there was no moderator to say to stick to the subject/topic. And since Paul is here all the time, he should have done this.

Also as you see Paul doesn't want to move all those posts, which are related to plugins from Discussion to Plugins forum. My post must be moved, others not? What is this, if not discrimination? Paul is biased against me, and he doesn't even leave out a situation, when he can do something against me. I don't accept any kind of discrimination, and will protest against it.

I'm also sorry, that this thread got filled with such unuseful arguments.

    Best regards,
    Webmaster33

I don't jump in often, but this thread _is_ about plugins, and belongs in the Plugins forum. Paul was correct in moving it -- had I seen it first, I would have moved it too.

If there are other threads that should be moved here, please point them out -- constructively, via PM, not open forum. Many threads are old, from before there was a separate plugins forum.

You have not been singled out in any way, but this thread is most definitely _not_ a discussion of links functionality, how-to, or other such links stuff, but rather about a specific (as yet to be released) plugin. I have moved several threads for just this reason, without complaint, over the years, and that is the main job of the moderators -- moving, organizing, and keeping things neat.

Posting a short message that the thread was moved, is also standard, and in no way the start of, or an invitation to start, an argument. The "meat" of the thread should pick up right after that message, without comment.

It's been fairly pleasant around here the past couple of weeks, and I'd like to see it stay that way.

Please, get on with the discussion of the plugin or this thread will be "locked" as being off-topic. This forum is for: "Development, Plugins and Globals" -- and a moderator's job is to keep it that way.

No reply to this message is necessary.

Ok, will suggest via PM, which threads should be also to moved. But I will get back to the public posting, if they will be not moved!

I don't want to exclude myself from the rules, so if all of you say that in Discussions forum, no plugin related threads allowed, it's ok for me. Let's move the threads, which are plugin related to Plugin forum, so make searching easier. It's ok for me, let's do it.
But I'll expect that the rules should apply to everybody, including Pugdog, Paul, or even Alex.
Sent a long thread list with 50 threads to Pugdog.

    Best regards,
    Webmaster33
