The grass is not greener...
Check out the following CNN Report: http://www.cnn.com/....plankton/index.html

Now this is scary, especially when taken together with recent climatic and environmental changes. And even more so (as the article does not explore) when you consider the intimate and (co)dependent relationship between the marine ecosytem and the terrestrial ecosytem (particularily the coastal biosystems that rely heavily either directly or indirectly on the health of the marine biosystem). Biological oceanographers (a field I received a B.Sc. Honours) have been discussing this scenario for decades. Another nail in the coffin of the Planet Earth Biosphere.

Yep, baleen whales. For example, Blue Whales, Humpback Whales, Bowhead Whales, Fin Whales, Gray Whales and Minke Whales. The impact will be felt through the entire food web, from bottom to top.

Semi-related...it was just on the news that a disease affecting seals has re-surfaced in the UK....it killed 18,000 seals in 1985 and it took 12 years for the numbers to go back up.....people are just starting to find dead seals on the beaches at the moment Unsure
