Bans No Go? v1.1.5
hi,

i've done a search and there seemed to be bugs with the bans feature in previous versions.

i've just tried it on my install of 1.1.5 and it doesn't seem to be working? ie. there is no list of bans coming up on the list bans page.

can anyone verify this?

Hi Regan,

The bans listed under Users -> Bans -> List Bans are site-wide bans. If you use the Site IP ban, the IP address will show up there (only the administrator can do a site IP ban). Ordinary forum bans are accessed through the linked text: "You can add/remove forum bans," at the bottom of the forum rules when viewing a forum. Yes, I know, this should be made much more obvious. Unsure

It would be nice if you all could develop a moderator admin tool, like the regular admin script-- and then in the actual admin script, we could configure what mods could do. For instance on my forum, all mods moderate all forums, and I trust them to modify user accounts, forum settings etc, but I don't want them messing with plugins, tools, or the core setup.

It would be nice if they also had a tool in there to move threads in bulk, rather than one by one, by checkboxes or whatever.

For version 2.0.0, we plan to get rid of the admin panel entirely, and build the admin functionality into the user-side. From there, various permissions will be assignable to different users and/or groups, which will allow you to, for example, give someone access to the user add/remove/modify pages, but still keep them from the core setup. It will be a much more flexible administration format than the current way - where you either have access to the entire admin, or you don't - no in between.

Fabulous :) I suppose it would be asking too much for an ETA? ;-)
