One issue you may notice is that on the forum lists there is the time, and then: by ... without any name after it. This is temporary, I'm working on fixing those up right now.

Lookin good.

smileys need to be picked for the most popular used ones, cuz we got some repeating going on. Well, the tag info is different but they still look the same ie, sarcastic and crazy. One other note ... maybe the word equivolent ones should be used since you can double check which emotion you're going for rather than facial expression which might not convey exactly the same for other nationalities ....... Also, if some one is not sure of the meaqning of the icon they can mouse over and see the word equivolent.

COOOL Cool

I just clicked url and it changed to / url ... one problem you might want to add a reset button ... I clicked url then erased it and still have / url showing .... just an idea

ummm ... I still like the locations for smileys/code at the top or to the right -- not so far to mouse over to.

Did you peek at phpBB2 ??? Sly

hehe, this board is really getting there !!! When do I get my copy ??? Wink

Oh yeah, the duplicate ones - that will hopefully soon be fixed up - the "sarcastic" and ":|" icons will be replaced with the appropriate icons - but they aren't quite ready yet.

Also new:

- In markup posts, you can escape markup by putting a dot in front of it. For example, if I write: [.smile] it will show up as [smile] instead of Smile. ([.smile] requires two dots, as in [..smile], which requires three, and so on)

- you no longer see signature tags. You can still USE them, but I implemented a checkbox instead due to request for it. When you post, the signature tag will be appended to the post (You'll see it if you edit) but people (myself included) found it too annoying as a tag that's always there.

- I made the green color of the "nnn NEW" (Shows up under "MESSAGES" in the header if you have new messages) a lighter shade - the dark green wasn't very noticable. Try sending yourself a message to try it out.

- Users can now set their own time offset. The times are relative to the server time, so to see the times in England for this forum, you would enter "8".

As for the smiley's, I originally had them to the right, but they seemed to be too far away so I moved them to the left. It's not a big deal to put them back on the right though... Anyone else prefer them on the right?

Well... I'd be lying if I said I didn't look at UBB, WWWThreads, Ikonboard, phpBB, VBulletin, etc. when deciding on features Wink

Oh yeah, one more thing - replies now by default contain the name of the person you are replying to.

Hi,

One thing I'm not sure if you are doing, but is a good idea - is to change the smilies into [img src=""] tags when they are posted to save resources, so you don't have to use the processor as much every single time the thread is displayed.

I know some people will say "what if we turn smilies off later on..." - but it would improve performance a fair bit, and on busy forums you need all the enhancements you can get.
Cheers,

DOH ... new ideas.

How about a general reply button.

Right now we can only reply to a certain person and for those who use the thread view this is great but from for those that use the flat view it sometimes doesn't really matter. haha, I'm a good example .. I post genreally to a thread but if I want to comment to somebody I use their name.

Also, in the jump to select field I didn't notice a general category just general topics ... ie.
G-forum <--- this area
G-Forum questions,
G-Forum bugs,
etc ...

-------------

hmmm smileys to the left or right ... good question .... I use a wide text box so I guess you're right.
