Beta 4 - Admin Password - Youch!
Hi,

When I try and change the admin password, or create it for the first time, the access and password files it creates throws the system into fits which then gives 'Internal Server Error' pages with every page I try to load. If I then delete these 2 files it goes again without any problems.

Cheers
R.

Hi,

The is most likly an option in the .htaccess that comes with Gossamer Mail is not allowed by your Apache configuration. Would it be possible to post what shows up in your error log when this happens?

Cheers,

Scott

Hi Scott,

All it's coming back with is this...

*******
[Sat May 12 10:04:16 2001] [alert] [client 210.55.43.3] /path/to/gmail/admin/.htaccess: DirectoryIndex
*******

Hope that helps!?

Regan.

Hi,

This is the DirectoryIndex option the .htaccess has in it. This is used to let people point their browser to /admin/ and still load the admin.cgi program.
I did some research about this option and it does not come turned on on the Apache you download from apache.org but does come turned on on my computer (Mandrake 8). It isn't that important and it is causing problems so I will remove it.

Cheers,

Scott
