Ban email domains

http://www.jpdeni.com/dbman/Mods/bad_email.txt

10 out of 10 stars (2 votes)

This mod will allow you to prohibit users who have certain domains in their email addresses. The most common use of this is to ban free email domains, requiring users to give their true email address. This mod will also allow you to edit the list of domains within the DBMan script, so you don't have to download the file, edit it and then upload it again. The mod will, however, allow anyone with admin permission to add a user who has a "banned" domain, through the Admin page.

Limiting the number of records per user

http://www.jpdeni.com/dbman/Mods/limitrecords.html

8 out of 10 stars (5 votes)

This is a list of a number of permutations of limiting the number of records a user can add, including limiting the total number a user can add (one or more) and limiting the number a user can add per day. The maximum number can be set by the admin on a per-user basis. There are instructions for forcing a new user to add a record after signing up for an account and for adding a record on the same form as signing up. There are versions for use with the "user-friendly" html.pl file and the default html.pl file, as well as versions to go with the secure password lookup mod and without it. Twenty-three permutations in all!
