[Zope-PTK] Version Dependencies in Zope vs PTK -- Help object in DemoPortal broken
|
|
I had some trouble getting PTK to work, but I found my major problem and just have one left. Here's what has happended to me: Originally after installing this PTK. I had lots of broken objects. Tried suggestions found on this listserv. Then I began to wonder about the Zope version making a difference to the PTK , and it sure did in my case. Mainly, the most recent RPM (as listed on the download page as Zope RPMS ) is version 2.1.2. I downloaded 2.1.4 and lo and behold PTK works EXCEPT that the Help object in DemoPortal is broken. Traceback (innermost last): File /usr/libexec/zope214/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 214, in publish_module File /usr/libexec/zope214/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 179, in publish File /usr/libexec/zope214/lib/python/Zope/__init__.py, line 202, in zpublisher_exception_hook (Object: ElementWithAttributes) File /usr/libexec/zope214/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 151, in publish File /usr/libexec/zope214/lib/python/ZPublisher/BaseRequest.py, line 338, in traverse File /usr/libexec/zope214/lib/python/ZPublisher/HTTPResponse.py, line 521, in debugError NotFound: (see above) This example was seen after clicking on the *structured text* link in the Add Content page of the Document Creation Wizard. Any hints from anyone else on how to deal with this- I looked at many of the items in the list archive-- maybe I didn't go far enough back? Do I need to get the most recent version of Zope from CVS in order for this to work? Is there a dependency issue? One spelling error: Contributer on the security tab should be spelled Contributor. I've been trying out Zope and I think that the demo portal and portal kit make the learning curve for Zope use much easier. Great piece of SW! Jeff Sasmor jeff [at] sasmor
