Is this:

cx88[0], cx88[0], cx88[0]

The same thing you see on baremetal?

There was a bug in 4.1.1 where migration of interrupts (which is what IRQ
balance tries to do) would fail. The xen-4.1-testing has the patch.

In regards to irqbalance - it looks to be seg-faulting and you might be hitting
this

Hi Konrad,

Appreciate the prompt response.

I have attached the /proc/interrupts while running on bare metal.

I have updated from Xen 4.01 about a month back. Now that you mention it, I
think it might actually coincide with around the time I upgraded to 4.1.1.
Around that time, I also had issues with my aerial connection, however the
aerial connection has been fixed recently and tested with a TV and works fine
now.

I will try the xen 4.1-testing and let you know how that goes.

Have tried putting the card in another PCI slot, which assigned the card a
different IRQ. This also, unfortunately made no difference.

Any suggestions welcome.

The other issue could be the ioports of the card aren't mapped correctly.
ioports are (on my box):

.. snip from lspci from some device ..
-----> Region 0: I/O ports at c800 [size=256] <-------

but they should if the driver did use the DMA API correctly.

You also never epxlained whether you had updated from a previous kernel? Or is
this the first time you are booting with Xen (and this hardware)?

Have previously used (on same machine & no hardware change):

kernel 2.6.35-22 (baremetal)
kernel 2.6.35-30 (baremetal)
kernel 2.6.32.43 [Jeremy's tree] (Xen 4.0.1 & Xen 4.1.1)
kernel 3.0.1 (Xen 4.1.1)

Currently:

kernel 3.0.4 (Xen 4.1.2-rc3-pre).

Last that I can remember mythtv / scan working on DVB was with kernel 2.6.32.43
and Xen 4.0.1. I have also tried kernel 3.0.4 and Xen 4.0.1; this also did not
work to scan DVB.
