Ok - let's see if I can respond properly....

What I did (by looking at Wikipedia) is edit MediaWiki:Nogomatch to be the
following:

<span style="font-size: 135%; font-weight: bold; margin-left: .6em">No page
with that title exists.</span>

<span style="display: block; margin: 1.5em 2em">
You can <b><a href="$1">Create an article with this title</a></b> or <a
href="index.php?title=How2:Requested articles">Put up a request for it</a>
</span>

Hope that helps ....

Re: "create new articles from the search form" [In reply to]

success, thank you all!

two notes i'd like to make, in my noobishness before i emailed I
thought that in editing the two pages i had to substitue the name of
my wiki for 'MediaWiki', this is obviously not so as anybody that
isn't up before 6 without coffee and tell you.

2. MediaWiki:Nogomatch will only be shown if you search for a term
that exists on your(the) wiki, but doesn't have an exact match article
title.

thanks again all.
