insert wiki text into a skin

insert wiki text into a skin

im trying to render wikitext inside monobook.php, at the footer right inside
the skin.
i would like to put something like this between "" and
"":

<?php $this->html("text and [[link]]") ?>

Would using a message work for you? Why would using wikitext be advantageous for you over just plain html?
