Meta-l

Hi,

I see there is now a "meta-l" list:
http://mail.lists.wikipedia.be/mailman/listinfo/meta-l_lists.wikipedia.be

Could it be transferred to the standard lists.wikimedia.org ? IMO it
makes more sense to have all the Wikimedia lists at one place.

Perhaps it is worth having a discussion about what the role of such a
list is, too? (when should one post to meta-l, and when should one
post to foundation-l?)

cheers
Brianna

Agreed.

This list is an "Ad interim" list. If/when the final list is created the
subscribers will be transferred and this list closed.
See;

Meta-l is to be used for matters that are specific about or relevant for
MetaWiki. I think it will be a low traffic list.

Hoi,
That is exactly what the foundation-l is for I would say.

It is a great start that will ensure that nobody will subscribe to this

Re: Meta-l [In reply to]

You've lost me here... First you talk of "chapters, board and
governance" and then of your meta block. Sure you recognise that these
two things are not really the same?

Re: Meta-l [In reply to]

rather than deflowering a white list or asking where one can complain
about certain stewards i will be using a sock puppet on meta ;)
thanks to ignore all rules, the blocking admin and i have the same
justification.

Perhaps that you've made your complaint but everyone reading it finds
it groundless?

http://ar.wikipedia.org/wiki/ويكيبيديا:تصويت/سياسة_اختيار_الإداريين

the link shows how policy is made on ar wp. images should do for ar-0.
users are now voting on *sysop selection policy* while it is still changing.
it's not clear who can or cannot vote, nor is it clear how the results
(kinda poll) will be calculated. for 2 months one candidate could not
become sysop as some admins insist on counting neutral votes as
against. wikipedia is no democracy; ar wp is a messy one right now.
how can meta help?
when blocking me the meta admin said: "If you have complaints about
ar:wp users, complain on ar:wp." one steward told me to leave ar wp
for 6 months, another suggested i use a sockpuppet there. considering
that one ar sysop claimed the positive cu was due to an evil roommate
who registered shortly after his block to carry on his edit wars, and
another sockpuppet claimed unspeakable attacks were due to an easy
password, and noting that one ar sysop said that creating 10
sockpuppets *OK* and no one objected, i don't think anyone can prove
me a sockpuppet accoring to ar wp standards. as my main account is
blocked on meta, i am not sure i am so.
care to know that one policy *proposal* was used to justify 10s of indef bans.
it all started here:
http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/foundation-l/2007-March/028370.html
and it is still a proposal. one day they may understand
[[Help:Modifying and Creating policy]]

ps. not about my ban, this email is [[category:humor]]
