Wikimania2008 sessions videos are now available

Hello Dears,

Wikimania 2008 sessions are now available here:
http://www.bibalex.org/isis/Frontend/archive/Archive_Movie.aspx

Videos of 77 sessions are available in MPG format, this is mainly for
download; I am afraid no preview is available.

Thank you for this amazing work Moushira, please extend our thanks to
the whole video team and whoever made this possible. I think this is
the first time that Wikimania is available on video so quickly and so
thoroughly :-)

Awesome! Wikimania attendees can now relive part of the experience and catch
up on missed presentations.
But much more importantly it allows those that could not attend to become
participants after all.

Actually, I need to apologize if some of the data were corrupted in sessions
that took place in delegates halls. We are still searching for a solution to
have all data retrieved and displayed correctly..

Again, I am terribly sorry for that..

I saw the very beginning part of my session lacked though, it doesn't
seem a problem to grasp the whole meaning. It's great to watch the
sessions I missed there, again, thanks Moushira and the BibAlex team!

Agreed. This is a wonderful opportunity for those who are interested but
unable to make it to the conference to participate in some manner. I expect
as people view the videos, we will see interesting feedback on issues raised
at Wikimania.

Hehe, reminds me of seeing people's vacation photos. Sure it's
fun, but being there would've been better.

Now we need some ultra-frank assessments about which sessions were
worth seeing, to avoid downloading gigs and gigs of data. :)

Anyone feel like putting together a backyard DVD burning service? I
would pay a decent amount for someone to burn all/some of these to DVD
and mail them to me.

Does anyone know an open source video splitter? Kaltura accepts up to
200 mb per file, so I had to split my video :) (Kaltura you can play
online, so it a little more user friendly towards that respect)

I used http://www.doeasier.org/splitter/ now. I would welcome good
suggestions though.

btw, you can find more easy to watch video's here on the kalturawiki:
http://www.kaltura.com/devwiki/index.php/Wikimania_Sessions . Not all
sessions are there yet though. If you want, you can download from the
ISIS website, split it to files less then 200 mB and upload them on
the wiki (in one video).

The bolded sessions are available already.
